John Lutz, MD
About
Dr. John Lutz is a Canton, Mississippi native. He is a Cum Laude graduate from the University of Mississippi, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, along with minors in Classics and in Biology. He attended medical school and also completed his residency training in anesthesiology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. While in training, he was elected Chief Resident of Anesthesiology. Dr. Lutz also served as the chairman of the Chief Residents Council for UMMC.
After completing his training in 2015, Dr. Lutz became board certified by the American Board of Anesthesia. He practiced general anesthesia in the Jackson area for seven years. During this time, he was chosen to serve in multiple leadership roles and on multiple advisory committees.
In 2022, Dr. Lutz decided to pursue a fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. While in fellowship, he received the academic excellence award for the highest score on the pain management in-service training exam. He was trained to manage pain with a multidisciplinary approach, including advanced interventional pain techniques, such as neuromodulation and vertebral augmentation.
Dr. Lutz and his wife, Ashlee, have three children and he enjoys spending time with his family. He is also an avid outdoorsman, enjoys watching sporting events, and is a loyal Ole Miss fan.
