MS SPORTS MEDICINE EMPLOYEES MAKE A WISH COME TRUE
Mississippi Sports Medicine employees started a Make-A-Wish campaign last month to honor of a former employee of 25 years, Robin Alexander. In the past, she participated in Make-A-Wish fundraisers and we felt this was a way to honor her. The recipient of our granted wish is Trey, from Decatur, MS who has been diagnosed with a brain tumor called Chordoma.
Trey wished for a virtual shopping spree and on Tuesday, April 28, 2021, MSMOC employees delivered. We raised $7500 for Trey's shopping spree. He also received a signed baseball by Atlanta Braves baseball player, Ronald Acuna, Jr. (his favorite baseball player) and a signed bat and baseball by Deion Sanders, who has played for the Atlanta Braves in the past. The Mississippi Braves gifted him and his family baseball tickets, VIP suite for a game, and an opportunity for Trey to participate in a virtual first pitch. The MS Braves mascot was there today for the wish reveal. Also, Sarah Thomas, the first woman to officiate in the NFL and the 2020 Super Bowl, attended and she gifted Trey a signed 2020 Super Bowl football . Northwest Rankin, MRA and Jackson Academy baseball teams also participated. Get Yarded Brandon donated and set up Make A Wish Trey signage on the front lawn of The Surgery Center in Flowood.
